Maire was visiting Cape Town for a few days in celebration of her 60th birthday and decided to do a portrait shoot as a celebration of herself and of reaching 60. As she is such a natural person, she wasn't sure about having her hair and make-up done, but make-up just accentuates a person's natural beauty and she looked so gorgeous. She brought in a few different outfits and we had fun playing around with different poses and looks.

She runs, cycles and is super-energetic and I just love the fact that she is so young at heart - she told me that she takes her nieces and nephews to rock concerts, including Eminem, which so cool.

The more I photograph 'older women', the more I realise that people really do get better with age. Isn't this woman just lovely?
