I have known Christina for many years as she owns Wedding Concepts, luxury wedding planners in Cape Town. I photographed many of their most lavish and beautiful events over the years. She was diagnosed with cancer a few months before doing this shoot and had undergone successful chemotherapy treatment.

For a woman who never wanted short hair, she wanted to do a shoot to embrace her new 'funky' hair and to celebrate her new-found health, her life and just herself and the beauty of being alive.

She came to my studio to have her make-up done and then we played around with a few outfits that she brought along and different lighting and backgrounds.
