Lauren's Maternity Shoot

I've been doing so many cool shoots lately in our silly season that updating the blog has not really been happening. I'm tempted to say something about there not being enough hours in the day but then I would sound like a real grown-up so I'll resist. Did a fab shoot in the dodgiest area of Woodstock with Stuart and a very hot mama-to-be, Lauren, who are salsa dancers!

Yvonne's Maternity Shoot

Yvonne was 31 weeks pregnant when we did this shoot and still fitting into her normal jeans! I went around to their home in Noordhoek and the weather held out while we dodged mud in some very wet fields and found a funky shed on a farmer's plot.

Sandra's Maternity Shoot

If I had known beforehand that Sandra's maternity shoot would include a wheelbarrow, vibracrete wall and a parrot called Captain Jack Sparrow even I would have been surprised. I love arriving at people's homes with no idea as to what I'm going to do or what's around. Sandra and Gerard are expecting their bump to pop out any day now, I thoroughly enjoyed our shoot in around their home last week!

Marna's Maternity Shoot

Marna was 35 weeks pregnant when we did the shoot and about to pop next month. She is an amazing dressmaker and her funky home studio is full of beautiful creations -  we took some shots there, in her home and around the leafy street outside her house. I can't wait to see if it's a boy or girl, you guys are going to be great parents! Thank you to Marinda for the referral!

Here is Marna and Jason's other baby:

Debbie's Maternity Shoot

I did a really cool preggie shoot with Debbie and her husband, Thabo, at their apartment in Gardens. Debs was 7 months pregnant, with the most gorgeous neat little bump. We started off with some more 'personal' belly shots in their home and then headed off to Signal Hill to get some more location type shots, with a stop at the underground garage on the way. They're such a chilled out, fun couple, I'm sure they are going to make the coolest parents!

Heloise's Maternity Shoot

Last week I went to Heloise's home in Kenilworth where I transformed her lounge into a mini-studio to do a maternity shoot. She had made a fire as it was bucketing down with rain outside and it was very cosy!  Heloise has such a graceful style about her and I couldn't believe that she's already 8 months along as sheis so tiny! I had a great time and love working with people in such a personal way - I think her husband was wondering what all the giggles were about but he did come and join us for a few shots near the end of our session and was a great sport.
