Michaela and Les were married in the UK last year but were on holiday in Cape Town and wanted some relaxed couple shots together. I didn't stop hearing from them about how un-photogenic they are.. but I completely disagree!

Christina and Richard run Wedding Concepts, one of the top wedding co-ordinators in Cape Town. We did a shoot with their dog, Sam at their home in Constantia and around... Isn't he gorgeous? I'm not Afrikaans but this look on his face makes me want to say 'Ag Moeder'...

Beautiful soft evening light, very chilled out couple, the best weather we've had in a while in not-so-summery- Cape Town = amazing shoot! Some sports-savvy people might recognise JP - being a bit clueless on the sporting front, I was slightly embarrassed that I had no idea that JP plays cricket for South Africa.

Dogs add a different dimension to a shoot and Jasper was very well behaved, he put Mocha and Java to shame.

I can honestly say that my life would not be the same without Betty. Betty is the wonder-women who continually recreates order from our chaos and takes care of my beautiful boy so that I can follow my passion. Since she always experiences my life, I thought it would be a great idea to do a shoot with her family and see a bit of her world... so on a Saturday afternoon 2 weeks ago, Jude and I headed out to Mitchell's Plain.

The Edlingtons are such fabulous family and completely reinforce my positive view of Canadian people - I think that every single Canadian person I've met has been really cool! Anyway, these guys actually live in Angola but came to Cape Town for a bit of a family holiday. Brad decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to document this phase in their lives before their eldest son heads off to university shortly.

I did a family shoot with Megan, her little boy and husband just over a year ago so this time she contacted me to do a big shoot which included grandparents and her sister's family as well. We headed down to Bloubergstrand and even got a beautifully calm evening... no evil South-Easter lurking around for a change! I always find big family shoots a bit overwhelming at first but it's always fascinating to see how people connect and relate to each other.

Julia and Kevin are from the UK but have been living in South Africa for the past 6 months - Julia thought it would be a great idea to have a portrait session with her boyfriend at Llundudno. So we went last week and it was the most perfect summer evening - no wind (miraculous for Cape Town!), and beautiful sunshine! I had great fun with these guys who are super-sporty and up for anything!
