Khayaletsha Cross-Processed |
| At the end of last year Moni and I did a lomography course at CTSP, given by the very cool Mark Kalkwarf. I was keen to have an excuse to play around without any pressure. I realised how much I missed the surprise of film and the beauty of it is that there is no post-processing involved... you never really know what you're going to get out of that camera.
One of the course shoots that we did included a trip to Khayaletsha. The colours, people and scenes are amazing. I loved these taken on that day - and these are straight out of camera! Woohoo for time away from the beloved pc!

When Exposure Gallery at The Old Biscuit Mill asked if I'd like to exhibit some work in a joint exhibition they're hosting on Cuba, I thought it would be a great excuse to get some my many images off my hard drive and into the real world! It seems like a good time to do it since Monica and I were in Cuba exactly a year ago. For all our photographer friends reading this, she'll also be exhibiting some of her from our trip too... so get off your couch/away from your Lightroom screens and head out to Exposure Gallery next Thursday 11 June at around 6pm. We can have a few mojitos somewhere afterwards :-)

Well the exhibition is now over and I think it was a huge success! Many more pieces sold than I thought would and it was fascinating to see what people loved. This picture turned out to be the top seller:
Thanks for all of you who went to go check out the exhibition. I'm looking into getting some more pieces sold around Cape Town so watch this space. The pieces that didn't sell are availble to buy at Third World, an awesome decor shop at the Old Biscuit Mill.... so you can go and have a look there if you missed the exhibition.

| Last night was the opening night of my Africa: People and Paraphenalia exhibition in Cape Town and I thought it went down really well - loads more people came than I expected. What I found really interesting to see were people's reaction to different photographs. Some photographs really stand out to some people more than others. A lot of people loved this photo:
