Saturday morning at Camps Bay |
| After a week's worth of solid rain in Cape Town, I was wondering why I had agreed to a family shoot on the beach in mid-winter, but the Saturday morning mist cleared to reveal stunning clear skies - it was a beautiful day! I met Tim and Bianca and their gorgeous son, Peter, on the beach and we had a portrait session while some brave swimmers were getting ready to swim to Clifton. (Apparently the water is warmer in winter but man that water is cold!) It's always fantastic to spend time with a family who so blatantly adore each other... it sounds cheesy, but what a privilege to be present among such amazing love! |

| Last night was the opening night of my Africa: People and Paraphenalia exhibition in Cape Town and I thought it went down really well - loads more people came than I expected. What I found really interesting to see were people's reaction to different photographs. Some photographs really stand out to some people more than others. A lot of people loved this photo:

A shoot with the Walker Family |
| | This past weekend I went to Swellendam to do a shoot with the Walkers. Since Alison is almost 8 months pregnant, we did some preggie shots as well as some family shots with their son Kai. We headed off to the hills just behind their home in the late afternoon and got some great shots. These guys own the most amazing guesthouse called Schoone Oordt (www.schooneoordt.co.za) and are some of the most friendly and hospitable people I’ve met. They also happen to cook the most delicious food – Ali’s husband Richard does a mean braai. Thanks for spoiling us rotten and for being so relaxed and up for anything! |

A shoot with the Miller Family |
| Last week I headed out to the Atlantic Beach Estate at Melkbos to photograph the Millers. Their daughter, Katie was the most adorable girl and almost at 2 years was not interested in staying still for a second! The golf course and beach were perfect places for her to run around freely! |
