Amanda // In Studio

12 February 2018

Amanda approached me to shoot some photogaphs for a modelling portfolio and so we shot a selection of natural, dramatic, beautiful and sexy images.

She brought in a few dresses, a blue sarong, some casual outfits and a fabulous hat which she looked so gorgeous in.

Delaney Siebert did a beautiful job with her hair and make-up.

Amanda Boudoir // on Location

Amanda Boudoir // on Location

05 February 2018

Amanda wanted to do a shoot with more of a 'boudoir' kind of feel as a gift for her husband's 50th birthday. She has a gorgeous home in Vredehoek with loads of light and beautiful furnishings so we decided to shoot there instead of my studio for something a bit more personal. She loves hats and wine and so we played around with those as well as her husband's scarf. She also needed some updated headshots for work so we incorporated those too.

After her shoot, she chose her favourite photos and we printed them out for a portfolio box to give to him as well as a large frame for their bedroom wall - too gorgeous.

Heike // In Studio and Location

Heike // In Studio and Location

20 February 2018

Heike lives mainly in Germany but comes to Cape Town regularly as she adores this city and is able to combine some work with play. This time she decided that she wanted to do a portrait shoot for herself both in studio and on location. (I love it when people want this option as there are such different images that you can get from both. Studio is more controlled and with more focus on individual aspects on someone wheras location is more about people being complemented by various things around them - there is always different light and textures to be found around.)

Once we had done some shots in studio, we headed outdoors to Muizenberg and the wind was raging in true Cape Town summer-style, but it added a flow of movement and energy. Looking at these images, I don't think you would say that we were battling against sand in our faces...

Heike was just lovely to photograph - she is a strong woman with a zest for life, a youthful and adventurous spirit as well as the most beautiful blue eyes.

Heike // Urban Cape Town

Heike // Urban Cape Town

04 April 2018

I photographed the lovely Heike a few months ago in studio and on the beach at Muizenberg  and this time she wanted something completely urban and different.

I spent such a fun morning with her in Woodstock and Observatory, walking around and checking out colourful spots and interesting light to be photographed in and stopping at the end for a glass of wine.

Jen and her girls // In Studio

Jen and her girls // In Studio

20 February 2018

I did this shoot quite a few months back with the most lovely Jen... who is just beautiful inside and out.  She came into the studio to have her hair and make-up done and then brought in a few outfits where we photographed just her on her own. Her beautiful daughters, Anna and Livia joined in for some shots at the end - they are all just too precious.

Niccola // In Studio

Niccola // In Studio

27 March 2018

Niccola contacted me at the end of last year to do a shoot for her to commemorate her 50th birthday. She has done photoshoots at the start of each decade of her life - what a wonderful idea.

She didn't want any make-up done or any photoshop retouching as she wanted this shoot to be a true reflection of who she is at this age and who she has become. She brought in 3 simple outfits and a tiny purse of accessories and we spent a fun afternoon in my studio.

I absolutely love photographing women over 40 - there is a certain confidence and self acceptance that seems to come with time that is so beautiful to capture. Niccola is completely comfortable in her own skin and just lovely to photograph.

Nicky & Lily // In Studio

Nicky & Lily // In Studio

03 November 2016

I photographed Nicky and Lily at my studio - they are both very 'girly' girls and so it was fun to do something pretty and feminine with them. I absolutely love photographing mothers and daughters. Nicky (as all women) kept on going on about how she wasn't feeling very photogenic and would prefer to do the shoot another time but she is so beautiful as she is... there is no time like the present.

Nicky's husband's Marc popped in for a few shots after he finished work so it was great to get a family portrait too.

Rennette // In Studio

Rennette // In Studio

26 October 2017

I've done a few shoots for Rennette over the years with her beautiful boy, Finn but this time she contacted me to photograph her on her own as a celebration of herself and her journey for her 41st birthday.

Rather than having hair and make-up done and being overly-photoshopped, she wanted a more natural and raw shoot with some darker and moodier elements and her true self showing.

Thank you Rennette for letting me share your photos with the world.

Sanam turns 21

29 August 2014

Sanam's mom contacted me to do a shoot with Sanam to celebrate her 21st birthday and to capture her at this beautiful age.

We had some fun at Muizenberg beach with some different outfits, including the dress she wore for her 21st party.

Lisa Brown did a great job with her hair and make-up.

Shahra in Studio

Shahra in Studio

12 November 2016

Shahra came into my studio where she had her hair and make-up done and then she brought several changes of clothing including the most amazing belly-dancing outfit, most of which she made herself. Bellydancing with  Soma is a big part of her life and she wanted to incorporate that into her shoot. I had so much fun spending a morning with her and photographing her gorgeousness.

Not only is she a multi-talented dancer/creator but is also super-brainy and one of the nicest people I've met whose favourite colour is red.
